The legend speaks of a sacred garden, home of the Hand of Midas which has the power of turning everything it touches to Gold. But the Gods, cruel as they were, placed the garden on an island that never appears twice in the same location.
I guess now we know why it never appears twice in the same location, right? Basically I wanted to show that the temple and the garden were lost for a long time, hence the ruins and the abandoned city. ------------------------------- I've been going through some bad moments these past weeks, so I felt I needed to hide in my universe for a while and do the one thing that ever made me feel good. And here it is. This took roughly 8 hours to finish, mostly coming up with the ideas and what have you. Enjoy ------------------------------ Stock: *JLStock - Stock Xchange. Daily DeviationGiven 2008-09-11Everything changes under water; light, shadow, reflections, colour, perception.. That's why it is so hard to recreate it in a piece of art. The Garden of Midas by ~sergiofx has certainly managed that quite well. Not only does the little kingdom on the turtle's back look as if built from the shell itself, but all the conditions are just right to make you feel like you are indeed in deep waters. welcome to the dark side
kick-start your horror art here . . .
Reminds me of part of a poem from Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series:
"Behold the Turtle of enormous girth,
Upon his back he holds the Earth.
His thought is slow but always kind,
He holds us all within his mind."
i love it man!!

Create your pain, design your wound
watch the fresh blood drain
from your skin and from your vains.
This art can take you far
once it becomes a scar.
The agony you endured
and the beauty of this scar,
will make you a star...
